Easiway Storage Loft Ladder Installation

This week, we are installing an Easiway Loft Ladder into a home.

This customer wanted a loft ladder which was ideal for basic storage access. They had an existing hatch which pushed upwards into the loft and we hinged it down for them.

Let’s get to work…

This is the existing push up loft hatch which will need to be hinged down.

Did you know?

If we can use your existing hatch to hinge it down, this is free of charge!

We then climb into the loft and begin fixing the Easiway loft ladder into place…

We then start making adjustments to the loft hatch in order for it to be hinged down…

The loft ladder and hatch are now all fitted.

We then test everything is working as it should…

Excellent, great work.

Thanks for reading our fitting of the week.  If you are interested in having a loft ladder or roof window installed, please do not hesitate to contact us on 020 8551 5800

Easiway Loft Ladder Installation

Location – Shooters Hill, London

Hello from South East London  This week we are installing another Easiway loft ladder.  Ideal loft ladders for  basic access to your loft space.

This job was fairly straightforward as our customer already had an old aluminium loft ladder in place and a hinge down hatch door.

Our job was to safely remove the old loft ladder and replace it with a new Easiway loft ladder.  The hatch door that was already present did not need changing, we therefore kept the door in place and applied a new twist catch.

We get to work but firstly removing the old loft ladder.

We then get the new Easiway loft ladder ready for installation

After the Easiway is unpacked, we then fix it into place

We then open the Easiway loft ladder and test it is working well…

After our testing has been completed, we then make any final adjustments necessary.

The last job left is to create a new twist catch on the existing loft hatch door.

If you would like a loft ladder installed, please do not hesitate to contact us on 020 8551 5800, we would be happy to help you.

Easiway Loft Ladder Installation

Location – Ilford, Essex

Hello from Ilford, Essex.  This week we are installing another Easiway loft ladder.  Ideal loft ladders for  basic access to your loft space.

Sometimes we have to put new hatch doors on if for whatever reason, we are unable to use the door you have.  In order to save you money and with your permission we can occasionally use your current door and hinge it down, as we do on this fitting.

Let’s get to work…

Here is the current loft hatch opening.  The hatch door before was a simple lid which sat on top and pushed up and inside the loft.

We then get the new Easiway loft ladder ready for installation…

Once the Easiway is unpacked, we then install the loft ladder into the hatch opening.

Once the Easiway is fixed into place, we then prepare the existing hatch door for hinging down.

We then test pulling the loft ladder and hatch down.

Successful test! We then put the ladder away and tidy up…

Location – South East London

Hello from South East London.  With Christmas fast approaching, we are fitting more and more Easiway loft ladders.  Simple, low cost, easy access to your loft space.

Here you can see Mr Fitter fixing the Easiway into place.

Once the loft ladder is fixed into place we need to test it works correctly.  Mr Fitter puts the loft ladder away and opens it up again.  See below:

Mr Fitter opens the hatch with the pole and pulls the Easiway loft ladder down to hand reach height.

Location – Ealing, London

Today we are fitting the Easiway loft ladder, this product is an ideal solution for simple basic storage use/occasional use.

For this particular loft ladder, there is no need for any cutting in the ceiling, it’s a case of installing the loft ladder into your current hatch opening/hole.  Your home like most others probably has a hatch you push and to the side, for this loft ladder, we would hinge down the hatch and put a twist catch on it.

Lets get to work…

01_current_loft_hatch

Does this situation look familiar to you? this hatch was just a simply push up lid.  Push it up and to the side to access your loft.  We will change this.

We removed the current hatch and now we will prepare the loft ladder for installation.

02_preparing_loft_ladder   03_preparing_loft_ladder_2

Ladder prepared Mr Fitter? “Yup…” time to install into loft hatch opening…

Location – Norwood, London

Good afternoon from south London.  We have arrived at a lovely family home in Norwood, south London.

Today we are installing the Easiway loft ladder.  An ideal solution for basic storage use/occasional use.

For this loft ladder, there is no need for any cutting in the ceiling.  Its a case of installing the loft ladder into your current hatch opening.  Your home is probably like most others and has a hatch you push up and to the side.

For this loft ladder, we would hinge the hatch down and put a catch on it.  However this situation today is slightly different and the current opening was much larger than the average and so the hinge down door would prove difficult to operate.  Fear not, we have the answer…

…Lets get to work…

First we removed the current hatch cover and got the ladder prepared and ready.

01_current_loft_hatch  02_preparing_new_loft_ladder  03_preparing_new_loft_ladder_2

We then had to ensure the loft ladder was secured to the hatch opening.

05_fitting_new_loft_ladder_into_place  06_fitting_new_loft_ladder_into_place_2
07_fitting_new_loft_ladder_into_place_3

All secured, lets give it a little test to see if its stable.

08_testing_new_loft_ladder  09_testing_new_loft_ladder_2

All good, lets check it out stored away.

10_new_loft_ladder_stored_away

Right, ladder done.  Its time to unleash the cunning plan for a manageable hatch door.

11_applying_first_half_door  12_applying_first_half_door_2

Only half a door? …we are not finished yet!

13_both_sides_door_applied 14_testing_new_loft_ladder15_new_loft_ladder_and_hatch

Ah I see, clever clever!

Excellently done! If you would like a loft ladder installed like this one, click here to fill out the form and we will contact you to discuss your availability.
